Colonial Irrigation

cnv00101This is Irregular Miniatures all metal Oasis being visited by Irregular Madhists and it’s a delightful piece. The refreshing looking water is the old trick of adding layer after layer of gloss varnish with occasional layers of paint. It’s the best way of getting a realistic water effect I know of. I have tried pours of both varnish and white PVA glue to get a similar effect but the varnish in bulk tends to trap bubbles and dry with an uneven surface. PVA glue is even worse suffering from both those defeats with the added frustrations of warps and even cracks. Of course this piece would be just at home with Monty’s caravan parked next to it or even some Ancient Egyptians
